The History of Chip Carvings

Chip carving is a decorative form of woodcarving.  Rather than carving a piece in the round, an existing wooden object such as a jewelry box, the face of a clock or the back of a chair is decorated by carving out small chips of wood to form a geometric pattern or other design.  In this article I will give you some information on the art along with its history.
