Here is a closer look at A Taste of Leavenworth. I wouldn’t care to taste it, and the rat don’t like it much either. I carved it for and donated it to the Taste of Leavenworth fundraiser for the Leavenworth Historical Society. I had a lot of fun designing and carving it! I carved this prison scene from basswood. The base is pine framed with black walnut. The convict was carved from three pieces of basswood laminated together to reduce waste. The height of the man is 9 1/2 inches and the overall height of the entire piece is about a foot. The ball and chain are also made of basswood. So take a closer look at what I’ve done here.
